Rick Kaiser and Frank Schiro
Rick and
Frank have over 50 years experience developing innovative, successful
consumer products and packages that have created over $1 Billion
in new sales. Through developing and leveraging critical consumer
and technical insights, they have delivered step change results
for Fortune 500 companies. Their experience covers a broad range
of product categories and industries across the value chain. Collectively,
Rick and Frank are responsible for the issuance of over 50 patents.
In 2004,
Rick and Frank formed Innovation Spectrum to provide expertise to
companies to deliver sustainable value through creative application
of innovation to products, packaging and strategy.
Rick Kaiser
Rick Kaiser is a strategic technology leader with over 25 years
of experience at Valspar, Hallmark, and Binney & Smith. In his
most recent corporate position, Rick was responsible for Global
Strategic Technology Acquisition at Binney & Smith, a wholly
owned subsidiary of Hallmark. At both Valspar and Binney & Smith,
Rick provided leadership and vision in product, packaging, and delivery
system development that led to the establishment of global brands.
In 2003, Rick established Innovation Advantage L.L.C. and currently
serves as President.
Rick has a unique ability to understand consumer needs, and to identify
technologies that can be used to meet those needs. By creatively
combining and reformatting technologies, he is able to deliver breakthrough
solutions for companies as well as multi-million dollars cost savings.
He has been able to develop solutions in fields as diverse as (1)
medical research and clinical testing; (2) paints, coatings, lacquers
and varnishes; (3) printing inks, colorant inks, dyes and pigments;
(4) writing instruments; (5) polymers and plastics; and (6) ink
jet technology. Additionally, Rick has developed systems that allow
R&D organizations to recoup their investment in products developed,
but not launched.
Frank Schiro
Frank Schiro is a strategic
business and technical leader with over 25 years experience at Procter
& Gamble, Kraft Foods and Hallmark. In his most recent corporate
position, Frank was responsible for Global Product Development,
Product Safety and Regulatory Compliance for the Binney & Smith
subsidiary of Hallmark (widely known for its Crayola brand). At
both Procter & Gamble and Kraft Foods, Frank held a number of
positions of increasing leadership in product development, package
development, process development and strategic planning. In 2002,
Frank founded Product Technology & Innovation, L.L.C. and currently
serves as President.
Frank has developed and led R&D organizations and has a proven
track record of highly successful, innovative new products across
many product platforms including household and personal care, food
and art & stationery products. Frank is a change agent and has
transformed R&D organizations from technical service mindsets
to proactive, consumer-focused product development roles. He uses
unconventional thinking and translates technologies across industries
to develop innovative, "world s first" products
which drive growth and profitability.
